Spine and wrists – a weird combination, I know! Like all yoga practices, we do incorporate the whole body, but this practice gives extra attention to gently moving the spine through cat/cow flows and gentle twists, as well as strengthening and stretching the wrists through downward dog, plank, and even a side plan if you’re up for it!
Spine health is so important: it helps us stay active and prevent injury by keeping the muscles of the back flexible and strong. Another great sequence for spine health is here: https://wholesomehumanyoga.com/yoga-for-the-back-and-spine/
Wrists are often ignored, but much used in daily life. If downward dog is difficult on your wrists, working on wrist flexibility, rather than strength, actually increases feelings of strength in wrist-heavy poses.
I hope you enjoy!
